"INROADS affords companies the opportunity to gain the talent of the highest achieving college students..."
-Lou Carrion
He’s got energy. He’s got style. Yet, it is his passion for INROADS that stands out the most. As an incoming Board Chairman, Board Member since 2001, and 2003 winner of the INROADS Community Service Award, Lou has increased INROADS Intern presence 900% in his local office alone. It was at an INROADS training seminar where he decided to join the Board. “I was impressed to see such in-depth, practical corporate competencies being shared. I knew that I had to be involved.”
Lou believes “unbending integrity” is the most essential criteria for leadership and says, “INROADS Interns are of the highest caliber. They represent not only the brightest and most educated minds, but also, the utmost integrity.”
Lou says that the Interns provide a fresh perspective at analyzing business problems and that his interns have developed tools which help business. For example, he says, “a past Intern, who is now hired, developed a sales tracking program using the web which has significantly contributed to our ability in tracking and monitoring sales productivity for each agent.”
Because of his Hispanic heritage, Lou is directly aware of the extra challenges involved in working in corporate America for underserved groups and youth from diverse backgrounds. He sees great value in the INROADS process, not only as an organization worthy of support, but one beneficial to business.
“INROADS affords companies the opportunity to gain the talent of the highest achieving college students and, in turn, help make a company’s products and services appeal to a highly diverse consumer base.”
