Who is at the top of the Legal Department of the world's largest package delivery company? Teri P. McClure...and she’s also and INROADS Alumna.

As the Senior Vice President of Legal Public Affairs and Compliance, and the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Teri credits INROADS with getting her started on a successful career.

“One summer, during my Internship at Hallmark Cards, Inc., I was part of the design and product marketing team to develop stickers from the design concept stage to the production stage. My ideas were utilized, and seeing how that all came together had a significant impact on me,” Teri says.

This INROADS Alum is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis with bachelor’s degrees in economics and marketing. She earned a Juris Doctorate from Emory School of Law in Atlanta. After practicing law for 10 years, Teri joined UPS as employment counsel for the Corporate Legal Department. She has been promoted four times since joining the company.

“INROADS was one of the biggest influencers in my career,” Teri says. “My five years of Interning experience helped me get into law school. Some of the assignments I had as an Intern gave me valuable experience that many of my law school peers did not have,” she adds.

Teri is blazing a trail for others by example and by reaching out to a new generation of summer Interns who work at UPS. “Each year, I host a lunch to let our INROADS Interns meet the senior management and to let them talk about things they’ve wanted to ask, but haven’t had the opportunity to do so,” she says.

“I feel very strongly about INROADS. There is still a need for companies to provide these opportunities and students should know the more they put into it, the more opportunities that will be available to them.”
