“I am truly grateful to INROADS for that little piece of magic called confidence in my abilities, ambition and aptitude."
-Kwame Jackson
Kwame Jackson may be nationally known for his former role on the NBC hit reality TV show, “The Apprentice,” but he credits his invaluable experiences at INROADS for his continued success. “INROADS is truly my foundation for corporate success,” he says, “INROADS helped demystify the world of Fortune 500 America and gave me the tools, skills and relationships necessary to build a strong professional foundation that I still utilize today.”
As a graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill and Harvard Business School , he has been a part of INROADS for 14 years and still keeps in touch with those who initially started him in the program at age 17. He spent his summers interning with Proctor & Gamble, who also hired him after graduation.
As an Intern, Kwame appreciated the relationships he built with other Interns and professionals within his company. Kwame admits “I can't say I enjoyed them back then, but I definitely see the benefits now,” referring to the many skill building Saturday sessions that gave him a forecast of what to expect in the corporate, professional world.
Kwame's mentor also played a significant role in his development. “My INROADS mentor gave me a great roadmap for success in corporate America . He took the time to explain the corporate culture of the company that was sponsoring me and built key internal networks on my behalf. More importantly, he helped me identify my strengths and weaknesses, which allowed me to further develop my professional skills so that I would always be in a position to excel. His interest was genuine, candid, personal, and much appreciated.”
Today, Kwame is an active Alumnus of INROADS as a national keynote speaker. He travels the country sharing his knowledge at Leadership Development Institutes, award banquets and various alumni events. Kwame recognized the impact of INROADS and is determined to raise the bar of success and give back to “young INROADERS” who will follow him.
Kwame says “I am truly grateful to INROADS for that little piece of magic called confidence in my abilities, ambition and aptitude. I'm so proud to be an Alum of such a special organization!”
