Sometimes it takes a life altering experience to awaken the giant potential within. For David Brown, the experience of having his life spared after a potentially violent confrontation was the spark he needed to realize that he could reach his greatest potential even for a kid who grew up on the hard streets of Philadelphia. Ever since then, David’s life story has been one success after another.

As David reflects on his youth, he shares, “That experience of possibly losing my life eventually led me from the street corner to the corner suite by pushing me into my studies, which led me to INROADS and the career success that I enjoy today.”

Although working in corporate America was a foreign idea considering the environment he grew up in and the influences surrounding him, David knew that he could make it if only he would just apply himself and pursue his passions and interests. With the support of the rigorous leadership development, corporate training, and mentoring he received from INROADS, David was on his way to a remarkable career.

As a youth, David could never imagine that he would have nearly 30 years of success working in corporate settings to serving at the top of the organizational chart at various organizations, launching his own company twice, and now as the Vice-President, Marketing and Outreach at United Healthcare Community Health Plan.

“INROADS was and is one of the most important organizations that made a meaningful difference in the career success that I have today,” shares David. “Without the foundation that it provided me at the start of my career, I don’t think I would be as successful as I am today.”
