My life story includes an INROADS chapter that is the foundation for my current position that I credit to my INROADS networking connections.

Sometimes networking with the right people can make a world of a difference in the opportunities you have access to. That’s how Charleita M. Richardson got to be in her current position as President & CEO of Partnership for the Future, a non-profit organization.

As an INROADS Intern, the leadership training was most beneficial to helping Charleita become more marketable as a professional. Not only did it develop essential business soft skills that have proven to be necessary throughout her career, but it also allowed her to form valuable connections and relationships that she still holds near and dear more than 15 years later since she joined INROADS.

As Charleita so eloquently puts it, “INROADS is a wonderful organization that opened many doors for me. As a result, my life story includes an INROADS chapter that is the foundation for my current position that I credit to my INROADS networking connections.”

Part of the INROADS success story is the fact that Interns are paired with mentors and an INROADS manager to coach them throughout the internship process and as they matriculate through their college studies and eventually launch their careers. For Charleita, it was her former INROADS manager who she stayed in contact with over the years that recommended her for the Director of Programs opportunity at her current company. Within a year in the new role, Charleita was named President & CEO.

Every INROADS success story can be traced back to training and development, and for Charleita it was that same training, mentoring, and networking that developed her work ethic and business skills and prepared her for her current role.
